INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "FREE AND OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE".

Last November, our students participated in the anniversary international conference on open source technology and free software. This conference is held for the 10th time on the basis of the Kharkov National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. One of the organizers is our teacher, Ivan Andreevich Mikheev.
Freshman Anton Kucha participated in the scientific conference for the first time. He dedicated his mini-research to the advantages of open-source text editors. Anton surprised organisers and other participants by using complex method - comparative analysis.
Liana Hakobyan, a 2nd year student, had already encountered scientific activities before. She transferred to Kharkiv University of Technology from another prestigious university. The future designer believes that there are no unnecessary subjects at KTU "Shag", it allows her to integrate more actively into the IT-sphere. At the conference Liana spoke about the role of free software in vector graphics.
Taking part in such events opens up a range of opportunities:
establish themselves in an academic environment
Exchange experiences with students from different domestic and foreign universities,
establish international ties
develop soft-skills
These were the first scientific publications of our students, so they were very excited before they made their presentations. They were supported by the Rector of HTU "Shag" Kavun Sergey Vitalievich and the Head of IT Department Alina Alexandrovna Zamula, which is very unusual for an academic environment.
All participants will keep scientific collections and impressions as a memento of the important event. This is just the beginning, so stay tuned. We promise to keep everyone informed.
